JOSEPH ELLERSHAW lived in North Yorkshire, firstly, in the parish of Clapham, then in the Low Bentham parish.
The children of JOSEPH ELLERSHAW are:

WILLIAM ELLERSHAW, who was born in 1751, in the Clapham parish and baptised on the 1st September,
1751 in Clapham Church.

MARY ELLERSHAW was born in 1754, in the Clapham parish and baptised on the 15th October, 1754 in Clapham Church.
She married WILLIAM WILCOCK, the son of ROBERT and GRACE WILCOCK of Low Bentham,
on the 20th May, 1782 in St. John the Baptist Parish Church, Low Bentham, Yorkshire. They settled in
Bentham, where William worked as a cabinet maker and they had four children.
Then they moved to Ingleton, Yorkshire about 1791. Here they raised their children and
added to their family with seven more children.
William and Mary were probably buried at St. John the Baptist Parish Church, Low
Bentham, Yorkshire, where their daughter, Ellen, was buried in 1802 and their son,
William, in 1812.

JOHN ELLERSHAW was also born in in the Clapham parish in 1757 and baptised on the 31st July, 1757 in Clapham
Church.

JOSEPH ELLERSHAW was born after their move to Low Bentham parish and baptised on the 19th September, 1762 in St.
John the Baptist Parish Church, Low Bentham, Yorkshire.
There was another Ellershaw family closely related to the Wilcock family. The head of this family was JAMES ELLERSHAW. He
married MARY.
