JAMES STANLEY (JOHN8 , ROBERT7, ROBERT 6, JOHN5, HENRY4, GERARD 3, HENRY2, RICHARD1) was born on the 25th January, 1808 in Dodleston, Cheshire and was baptised on the 13th March, 1808 at St. Mary Parish Church, Dodleston, Cheshire.

He married MARGARET SUTTON on the 11th April, 1839 in St. Oswald Parish Church, Bidston, Wirral. She was the daughter of JOHN SUTTON and ELIZABETH CLARKE and was baptised on the 29th December, 1816 at St. Oswald Parish Church, Bidston. Margaret lived at Reeds Farm, Leasowe, Wirral. In 1851, James had a 50 acre farm in Wallasey but by the late 1850's he was farming a 108 acre farm, The Carr, Carr Lane, Saughall Massie, Wirral.

James died on the 28th June, 1861 at The Carr, Saughall Massie and was buried on the 1st July, 1861 in St. Oswald Parish Church, Bidston. After his death Margaret continued to work the farm with the help of her family and servants. She died in 1893 and was buried with her husband on the 21st January, 1893.

  3. EMMA STANLEY, b. June 17, 1842, Wallasey; bapt. July 17, 1842, St Oswald Parish Church, Bidston, Wirral; d. September 08, 1861, Great Meolse, Wirral; bur. September 10, 1861, St. Oswald Parish Church, Bidston. In 1861, Emma was a servant to John Sutton.

  4. WILLIAM STANLEY, b. March 03, 1844, Bidston; d. September 18, 1901, Great Meolse.

  5. MARIA STANLEY, b. December 28, 1845, Leasowe, Wirral; bapt. February 01, 1846, St. Oswald Parish Church, Bidston, Wirral; d. August 04, 1932, 13, Probyn Road, Wallasey, Wirral. bur. August 08, 1932, St. Oswald Parish Church, Bidston. Maria was a spinster.

SARAH STANLEY (JAMES9, JOHN8, ROBERT7, ROBERT6, JOHN5, HENRY4 , GERARD3, HENRY2, RICHARD1) was born on the 7th July, 1849 in Leasowe, Wirral and baptised on the 26th August,1849 in St. Oswald Parish Church, Bidston.

Sarah was an assistant school teacher and married CAPTAIN WILLIAM PERSE BROWNLESS on the 12th December, 1872 in Christ Church Parish Church, Moreton, Wirral. He was living in Birkenhead at the time and was the son of WILLIAM BROWNLESS, a book keeper. William was a mariner.
