I am unsure that Robert is Joseph's father, without a baptism record. I am sure he belongs to this family but maybe Robert's nephew.

    JAMES WILCOCK (WILLIAM3, ROBERT2JOHN1) was born in Ingleton and baptised on the 17th November, 1794 in Ingleton and Chapel le Dale Parish Church. Ingleton. He married ELIZABETH and lived at Low Mill, Lower Bentham, Yorkshire. James worked as a master joiner. By 1861, Elizabeth had died and James was living with his married daughter, Isabella. He was working as a mechanic in the local flax mill. He later moved to a house in the hospital, where he was drawing a charitable annuity.

    THOMAS BRISCOE, (ANN4, WILLIAM3, ROBERT2JOHN1) was born in Ingleton and baptised on the 16th December, 1832, in Ingleton and Chapel le Dale Parish Church. Ingleton. He married ISABELLA FOSTER, daughter of LEONARD FOSTER and ELLEN LEECH, on the 5th April, 1864 in St. James Parish Church, Clapham. They resided in Ingleton to rear their family.Thomas worked as a fireman in the lime works.

    Thomas died on the 9th September, 1897 and was buried in Ingleton Cemetery. Isabella died on the 8th January, 1933 and was also buried in Ingleton Cemetery.

    ISOBELLA WILCOCK (JAMES4, WILLIAM3, ROBERT2JOHN1) was born in Low Bentham, Yorkshire about 1835. She was a dressmaker. Isabella married CHRISTOPHER HERD, who was born in Middleton, Lancs. Christopher was an overseer at the flax mill. They resided with Isabella's father until her father went into a house in the hospital.

    JAMES WILCOCK (JAMES4, WILLIAM3, ROBERT2JOHN1) was born in Low Bentham and and baptised on the 4 th March, 1836 in St. John the Baptist Parish Church, Low Bentham. After his mother died, James went to live and work, as a joiner, in Holme. It was here he met NANCY WADESON , who was working as a spinner in the flax mill. She was the daughter of RICHARD and SARAH WADESON nee DENWOOD. James and Nancy went to live in Barrow in Furness and they married on the 23rd January, 1865 in Ulverston Registry Office, Ulverston, Cumbria.

    James continued to work as a joiner/ journeyman and the children were born in Barrow in Furness.

    Then the family moved to Liverpool in the 1870's. They had several addresses in Toxteth Park, Liverpool. James died at 25, Oldham Street, Liverpool and was buried on the 30th October, 1892 at Toxteth Cemetery, Smithdown Road, Liverpool. Nancy died on the 11th July, 1903 in the hospital ward of Liverpool Workhouse and Hospital, Brownlow Hill, Liverpool and was buried with her husband on the 15th July, 1903.
