Generation 1
JOSEPH SAXON lived in Alt, Lancashire, where he married ELEANOR. They both died young in Alt. Eleanor was buried on the 16th January, 1778, in
St. Michael and All Angels Parish Church, Ashton Under Lyne, Lancashire and Joseph was buried with her on the 15th December, 1796.

JOHN SAXON (JOSEPH1)was born in Alt and baptised on the 25th December, 1765. He married SARAH BUTTERWORTH on the 5th February, 1786 in St.
Michael and All Angels Parish Church, Ashton under Lyne, Lancashire. John was a weaver and after they were married they lived in Alt, Lancashire.

SAMUEL SAXON (JOHN2, JOSEPH1) was born in Alt and baptised on the 12th October, 1788 in St. Michael and All Angels Parish Church, Ashton
under Lyne, Lancashire. He married SARAH LEES on the 2nd January, 1815 in St. Mary Parish Church, Oldham, Lancashire.
Samuel worked as a mechanic and they resided in Alt. In 1861, Samuel was a publican and they were lived in 30, Yew Tree.

NICHOLAS SAXON (SAMUEL3, JOHN2, JOSEPH1) was born in Ashton under Lyne, Lancashire and was baptised on the 30th July, 1815 in St. Michael
and All Angels Parish Church. He married FANNY LEES, daughter of JOHN LEES of Ashton under Lyne, on the 16th
October, 1837 in St. Michael and All Angels Parish Church, Ashton under Lyne, Cheshire. Both Nicholas and Fanny were residing in Alt at the time of their
marriage. Nicholas was a turner and fitter. Later, he worked as a mechanic. They lived in Bardsley, close to Alt in 1851 and had moved to Dukinfield,
Cheshire by 1861.
Nicholas died in Dukinfield and was buried on the 13th May, 1867 in Dukinfield Cemetery, Cheshire. After Nicholas'
death, Fanny moved to Stalybridge, where her son was living. Fanny died there and was buried with her husband on the 19th December, 1874.

JOSEPH SAXON (SAMUEL3, JOHN2, JOSEPH1) was born in 1819 in Park Bridge, Ashton under Lyne, Lancashire and was baptised on the 4th
July, 1819 in St. Michael and All Angels Parish Church, Ashton under Lyne. He married MARY and they lived in Ashton under Lyne. Joseph was a mechanic in
1841 but by 1861 he farmed a ten acre farm in Alt, next to his parent's home.

NICHOLAS JAMES SAXON (NICHOLAS4, SAMUEL3, JOHN2, JOSEPH1) was born 1851 in Dukinfield. He married ELIZABETH TONGUE
in St. Paul Parish Church, Stalybridge, in 1871. They raised a family in Stalybridge, where Nicholas worked as a nail cutter.
He moved to Dukinfield for a time, but died in Stalybridge. He was buried in St. Paul Parish Church , Stalybridge
on the 11th January, 1896.

JOHN SAXON (NICHOLAS4, SAMUEL3, JOHN2, JOSEPH1) was born in Dukinfield and was
baptised on the 7th June, 1853 in St. John
Parish Church, Dukinfield. He married HANNAH HIBBERT on the 17th August, 1874 in
St. George Parish Church, Hyde, Cheshire. Hannah was the daughter of JAMES HIBBERT and JANE BROADBENT. They settled in
Dukinfield and John worked as a nail cutter and later as a machine grinder. Before Hannah married, she was a cotton weaver.
Hannah died in Lake hospital, Ashton under Lyne on the 17th May, 1928 and was taken to the family grave in which
her grandsons were buried, at St. Paul Parish Church, Stalybridge on the 2nd June, 1928. John died 1931 in Back
Avon Street, Stalybridge and was buried with Hannah on the 23 rd April 1931.
The child of JOHN SAXON and HANNAH HIBBERT is:
SARAH ANN SAXON, b.1876, Stalybridge; d. 1944, Stalybridge.
LEES SAXON (JOSEPH4, SAMUEL3, JOHN2, JOSEPH1) was born in 1860 in Ashton under
Lyne. He married MARY ELLEN LAWTON, a widow, in August, 1881 in St. Mary Church, Prestwich, Bury. Mary Ellen's first
marriage was to HADFIELD and in 1881, she was living in Bury with her daughter, SARAH JANE HADFIELD and her unmarried
relative, SARAH ANN LAWTON. Mary was a confectioner. Lees and Mary settled in Oldham, Lancashire.

Dukinfield and baptised on the 23rd July 1876 at St. John Parish Church, Dukinfield. Sarah worked as a weaver
until she married JOSEPH SUTCLIFFE. Sometime after Joseph died in 1918, Sarah
married JAMES BOOTH.
